Mr. Mom!

Yesterday Drew was off work, so he decided that he wanted to keep Anna Kate. I knew that he was definitely capable of this task, but I knew that he had no idea of how busy "staying home" would be! First of all, she usually sleeps until 7 or 7:30, however yesterday she was ready to begin her day with daddy at 5:30! (I was already at work!) I got home at 3:30 and he was feeding her, so I offered to take over. I promise I only had her for 2 minutes and I look over to find this....

Gotta love the pacifier on the leg! You can't see it in the picture, but he also had spit-up on his shirt! Priceless.

So after feeding Anna Kate, I walk into the kitchen to find this.....

a half eaten hot pocket! I yell from the kitchen, "Drew, what did you have for lunch?" He said, "aw man, I forgot that I was eating lunch." I cracked up, since there are many days I think why am I so hungry? Oh yeah it's 4:00 and I have yet to finish my pop tart!! Needless to say, he quickly discovered that staying at home did not mean watching tv all day! I think he now has a new appreciation for moms! He did a great job though. He managed to do 1 load of laundry and put clean sheets on the bed (since she had spit up all over him and the bed at 5:30am!) Good job Drew!! Gotta love him for trying!

Last week of maternity leave

Well, I survived my first day back at work on Monday. It wasn't too bad. I only cried once and only called mom three times! Here are a few pictures from my last week at home on maternity leave.

Drew was off for 2 days during the week, so we did some sleeping in!

Mary Lyndsey was here this week visiting, so we got some good cousin time!!

Anna Kate took her first dip in DeDe and Poppy's pool!!

She started drinking from her "big" bottles this week also! They are as big as she is!

She is growing so fast, and starting to develop her little personality! Here is Anna Kate at 10 weeks old!

Do I have to go back?!!

So this is my last week of maternity leave. I just want to know where 12 weeks went? Wasn't I just waddling around the neighborhood trying to dilate?! Monday, July 21st is the dreaded day. I have absolutely LOVED every minute of being with Anna Kate. I am looking forward to seeing the fun people I work with (they spoiled me the whole time I was pregnant!!), but I am going to miss this little girl soo much!!! I always knew that I wanted to be a stay at home mom, and nursing school was just a back up plan, and these last 11 weeks have made me want that even more!! Hopefully at the beginning of the year I will get to stay at home more, but until then duty calls! I am afraid I have totally forgotten how to do my job. My poor first patient! I may just burst out in tears right there in the room! Please keep me in your prayers next week! For now though, I am enjoying this week with my sweet girl. I will post some pics later of our week. Right now it's late, and I am typing this with one hand (she fell asleep on my chest, and no I am NOT putting her down!)so no pics tonight.

July 4th Beach Trip

We spent a long weekend at the beach celebrating the Fourth of July. We had fun just relaxing and taking turns sleeping in since there is not too much you can do at the beach with a 9 week old. She did take her first dip in the ocean, and loved it! I think we have a beach girl on our hands!

Anna Kate got to play with her friend Maddox while we hung out with his mom and dad!

Anna Kate's first time on the beach!

Catching up..

I thought since I am just getting started with this blog that I would post a few pics from the last 9 weeks! She is growing soo much everyday!

Happy Birthday Anna Kathryn!

May 2, 2008 was a very LONG day! I had to be at the hospital at 5:30am to be induced and Anna Kate was born at 7:11pm. She weighed 6lbs 4oz and was 19 3/4 inches long. Drew and I were both exhausted as you can see in the last picture! It was an awesome day, and we are so thankful that everything went so smoothly.

Getting Started...

Drew and I (it was probably more my idea) decided to start a blog, so our friends and family could keep up with our exciting life! (haha) We know that everyone just wants to see pictures of Anna Kate!
This is my last pregnant picture on the morning I was induced. 40 weeks and 1 day!!
